What is the YEN Image Competition about?
We love amazing scientific images of development whether it is embryos or organoids, and we want to support PhDs and postdocs by showcasing their work at the YEN conference and online! We will then use an online poll where you can vote on your favourites. The top 10 best images will be displayed at the YEN 2025 Conference!
The YEN Committee and a representative from Nikon Instruments will choose 3 winners to be announced at the conference and receive an award (voucher and small gift) for their achievement. These 3 images will then also be used by YEN in future promotional materials like posters and the YEN website.
How to participate?
Any early career researcher (PhD/postdoc) can submit an entry following these guidelines:
- Must be an image you took related to developmental or stem cell biology.
- You can choose to submit a visually striking microscopy image, output of image analysis or art made by you.
- Provide your full name and affiliation.
- Write a short description of the image and the technique used to obtain it (include for example type of microscope or analysis where possible)
By sending us the image for the purpose of the YEN Image Competition you agreeing to the YEN Committee showing this image in public (including on our website and social media) and using it on YEN materials to promote future events. We will always credit you unless you request us not to.
